CELEBRATE THE CITY – The first week of May 2010 our city and surrounding communities experienced torrential rains that resulted in massive flooding throughout the entire area. Homes and businesses were lost, families displaced, and at least 33 people died across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky. The memories of this event are seared in our minds permanently. Some are still rebuilding their lives and dreams. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost loved ones during this time. During the flood, we saw the spirit of community rise up in the hearts of this entire region. First responders, churches and civic organizations, and every day people pulled together and showed amazing strength of spirit. This month, we are, “Celebrating The City”. We will celebrate the spirit of a city that is strong and compassionate. May 5th, we will celebrate our first responders and the awesome job they did in search and rescue efforts. May 12th is Mothers Day and we will celebrate the heart of the women of our church and city. May 19th, we will celebrate the great churches of our city, many of which rose to the occasion to serve the needs of a devastated community. May 26th, we will celebrate the creative spirit of Nashville as we welcome songwriters to The River. We will see how their dreams fueled the machine that has made this city great. All month long, join us, as we, “Celebrate The City” of Nashville!

Blessings,                                                                                                                                                                                   Pastor Barry
